The NantongBusan Business and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting was held in Nantong on May 12. Chinese and South Korean entrepreneurs from industries including shipbuilding, marine engineering, equipment manufacturing, and electronic information gathered in Nantong to discuss cooperation opportunities and jointly map out a promising future. Zhang Tong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee and Mayor of Nantong, and Kwon Do-gyeom, Head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, attended the event and delivered speeches.

Orientaltrans received an urgent notice that the meeting required additional Korean simultaneous interpretation and translation services, with tight timelines, heavy tasks, and an extremely compressed preparation period. Upon receiving the request, we immediately activated our emergency service mechanism, rapidly coordinated high-quality internal interpretation and translation talent resources, quickly established a professional interpreter and translator team, promptly finalized staffing schedules and travel arrangements, and rushed to the venue to stand by at the earliest possible time, making every effort to maximize preparation time and ensure the orderly implementation of all preliminary coordination work.

At the meeting, Zhang Tong expressed her welcome and gratitude to the Chinese and South Korean entrepreneurs present. She highlighted the longstanding history of exchanges and cooperation between Nantong and South Korea, with Busan as a key partner. She said that both cities are renowned for their ports and industrial strengths, presenting strong economic and trade complementarities and broad prospects for collaboration. Nantong will fully implement the spirit of the China-ROK presidential meeting, and with institutional opening-up as the driving force, improve the new foreign investment service and support system, while striving to become a premier investment destination for foreign-funded enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region. It is hoped that more ROK-funded enterprises will organically integrate their advantages in advanced concepts, management models, and production technologies with Nantongs industries to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes through two-way openness. It is also hoped that the Busan Business Council of the Korea International Trade Association will play its role as a bridge, helping connect more high-end talent and high-quality projects and promoting the implementation and transformation of achievements in industrial innovation collaboration, supply-demand matching, and trade exchanges. Nantong will continuously foster a transparent, stable, and predictable institutional environment, aiming to share opportunities, creating value, and achieving a win-win future with all parties.

During the meeting, the Nantong Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology gave a special presentation on the development of Nantongs shipbuilding and marine engineering industry. Representatives from Nantong's development zones, including the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone, Rudong Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, and Qidong Lyusi Port Economic Development Zone, introduced their investment environments, industrial layouts, and key cooperation projects. Representatives from companies, including Panasia Co., Ltd. and G-MAX Co., Ltd. from Busan, South Korea, as well as Wison New Energies Co., Ltd. and Nantong Zhuoyue Precision Parts Co., Ltd. from Nantong, shared their development experiences and discussed their cooperation needs based on their practices.

During the event, interpreters and translators from Orientaltrans performed their respective duties and worked closely together to accurately complete simultaneous interpretation, and translation and proofreading of documents. Relying on their solid language skills, extensive practical experience, and rigorous and conscientious working attitude, interpreters efficiently resolved various communication challenges on site, ensuring smooth and unobstructed exchanges between Chinese and foreign participants throughout the event.
