Orientaltrans Supports the China-Denmark Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Seminar

2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Denmark, and the two countries have maintained close cooperation in the field of sustainable development for many years. To implement the Green Joint Work Programmebetweenthe Government of the Peoples Republic of Chinaandthe Government of the Kingdom of Denmark (20232026) , and to deepen exchanges between Jiangsu Province and Denmark in the fields of green transformation and low-carbon development, the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province and the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai jointly held a seminar themed Shaping the ESG Future Together Synergy Between Green Transformation and ESG in Changshu, Suzhou on June 26. A total of 68 representatives from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, the Department of Finance of Jiangsu Province, the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, the Changshu Municipal Peoples Government, the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai, the Confederation of Danish Industry, green technology research institutions, financial institutions, certification bodies, and relevant Chinese and Danish enterprises participated in corporate visits and seminar exchange activities.

 

Pan Liangbao, Level Bureau Rank Official of the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, Mikael Hemniti Winther, Consul General of Denmark in Shanghai, and Tan Xiaohua, Vice Mayor of Changshu, delivered opening speeches at the seminar. Pan Liangbao extended a warm welcome to the participants, reviewed the deep-rooted cooperative relationship between Jiangsu and Denmark, and expressed his hope that this seminar will serve as an opportunity to deepen China-Denmark cooperation in green industries, strengthen exchanges in environmental governance, and contribute to China-Europe and broader international green cooperation. Mikael stated that cooperation between Jiangsu and Denmark in the fields of environment, climate, and green transformation continues to grow. He expressed his hope that exchange activities will align EU and Danish ESG trends with Chinas national and provincial priorities to unlock shared value. Tan Xiaohua stated that Changshu will continue to optimize its business environment and support the development of new quality productive forces, welcoming more Danish enterprises to enter and invest in Changshu and deepen cooperation in areas such as low-carbon development and environmental governance.
